This virtual workshop will explore a process for self-assessment that elevates student voice as they discover their learning growth over time. Through this process, students are empowered because they recognize accomplishments as well as have agency for next steps. As a bonus, students will be more articulate in telling their story of learning to their parents or caring others.
In this session, learners will learn how to use four processes for their own grade/subject area:
- Collection (regular practice of storing work samples);
- Selection (choosing work samples for further study);
- Reflection (from the student’s perspective why these work samples were chosen as examples); and
- Direction (what the student sees as next steps based on what they have learned so far)
